Sharing a family photograph featuring the sisters, half-siblings, and extended family of my great-grandaddy, James Paul “Jim” Douglas. These are the faces behind the names in our family tree—and a chance to remember them together.
Pictured are:
Rita “Aunt Pete” Douglas Brown (1894–1962) — Jim’s sister.
Linne Irene Chancey Williamson (1897–1954) — wife of Stephen Williamson.
Victoria “Aunt Vic” Douglas Goode (1901–1982) — Jim’s sister.
Georgia Williamson Davis (1892–1980) — Jim’s half-sister.
G. Harney “Harmon” Davis (1877–1945) — Georgia’s husband.
Rodger Bailey Goode (1899–1982) — Aunt Vic’s husband.
Stephen Williamson (1890–1971) — Jim’s half-brother.
Missing from the photograph are Mary Douglas Dampier (1901–1985) and James Paul “Jim” Douglas (1895–1952), along with their spouses. One detail I especially love: Mary and Victoria were twins. 🥰
A photograph can’t tell us everything about a family, but it gives us something precious: a glimpse of the people whose lives became part of our own story. Today, I’m remembering this branch of the Douglas family, one face and one name at a time.
